The clinical spectrum ranges from a simple fever to severe shock syndrome. The disease is characterized by capillary leak syndrome, bone marrow and hematopoiesis suppression with late recovery, liver dysfunction and rarely encephalopathy. Thrombocytopenia with bleeding manifestations warrants platelet transfusion. The use of prophylactic platelet transfusion is increasing in countries where dengue is endemic. This has led to risks of transfusion reactions and increased costs. Due to a lack of evidence-based guidelines, there is an inappropriate use of platelet transfusion widely. The current review aims to give an overview of the role of platelet transfusion in dengue patients with thrombocytopenia.

Read Full Article[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner el_class=”blog-col” css=”.vc_custom_1617009566389{border-radius: 5px !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”5482″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Pre-Op Cardiovascular Assessment in Liver Transplant” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%239a286d” google_fonts=”font_family:PT%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]INTRODUCTION

In ESLD, cardiovascular events are one of the major cause of mortality.
