Commonly performed surgery for Femoral neck fracture in elderly are total hip replacement and hemiarthroplasty. The aim of our study is to evaluate the functional outcome and complications of head retaining osteosynthesis in stable neck of femur fracture in elderly with minimally invasive yet rotationally stable femoral neck system.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>METHODOLOGY<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prospective study conducted in kauvery hospital Chennai. 15 elderly patients who were admitted with stable neck of femur fracture were treated with FNS. Patients included in this study are Garden type I and type II neck of femur fracture, age above 60 years, minimum follow up of 3 months and patients who were ambulant without support before fracture. Operative duration, blood loss during surgery, postoperative ROM , fracture union and complications (varus collapse, nonunion, implant failure, AVN) during follow ups were assessed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9654 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kauveryhospital.com\/ima-journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/img-3-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"532\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kauveryhospital.com\/ima-journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/img-3-3.jpg 532w, https:\/\/www.kauveryhospital.com\/ima-journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/img-3-3-265x300.jpg 265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 532px) 100vw, 532px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>RESULT<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">9 female and 6 male patients with stable neck of femur fracture were included in the study. Average operative duration was 65 minutes , mean blood loss was 100 ml. All the patients had good fracture union, pain-free ROM and stable ambulation during the follow up. None had infection , AVN or head resorption.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9655 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kauveryhospital.com\/ima-journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/img-3-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>CONCLUSION<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Patient selection with stable femoral neck fracture is crucial.
