Mountain behind a mountain

A 33-year-old YX did not expect this ancient French Caribbean proverb to come true in his life. The Proverb said, in pidgin French, that ‘Deye mon gaye mon’. It warned that there could be another mountain on your path, beyond the mountain you just climbed.

YX was diagnosed to have Phaeochromocytoma, a tumor of the Adrenal gland that secreted hormones that cause very high blood pressure, which in turn put him at risk of bleeds into the brain and heart and kidney failure. Successful excision of this tumor called for an exceptionally coordinated and skilful team of surgeons, anesthesiologists and endocrinologists. This was expertly undertaken at Kauvery Hospitals.

But on recovery YX was confronted with another endocrine tumor, a papillary carcinoma of the Thyroid. Tumors are known to occur simultaneously in multiple hormonal glands like Adrenals, Thyroid, Pancreas etc. This too was comprehensively addressed and resolved at Kauvery Hospitals.
