Radish Greens Stir Fry / Mullangi Keerai Poriyal

Radish with leaves / mooli ke patte / mullangi keerai are also edible along with the vegetable. As a matter of fact the leaves are highly nutritious. They are rich in vitamin C and a good source of calcium and protein.

Next time you are able to get hold of radish, do not throw the nutritious leaves away… instead use them to make this delicious stir-fry.



  • Radish with greens 3 nos
  • Omam seeds a pinch
  • Sambar powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1/2 tsp


Wash and chop the radish leaves and the radish finely.

In a pan add little oil. Add a pinch of Omam seeds, sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt. Stir.

Now add the chopped radish and greens.

Sprinkle very little water

Cover with lid and cook.

Once the radish leaves turn slightly soft, remove from heat. It cooks very quickly.

Serve with hot rice and ghee for a wholesome meal.
