zhaithandoo soup/ Banana Stem Soup

Undoubtedly, Banana is the only fruit that can be completely used right from leaves to stem. Banana provides us with plenty of nutrients like potassium, fiber and Vitamin B6. Banana Stem helps in maintaining a healthy kidney, increased hemoglobin levels. Besides, helping in flushing out calculi of kidney, it also helps remove the body toxins, thus results in weight reduction.


  • Banana stem – 1
  • Small onions – 6
  • Garlic pods – 6
  • Ghee 2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powders


  1. In a pressure cooker, add ghee and let it heat for a while.
  2. Add in small onions, garlic and banana stem. Fry them well until raw smell goes off.
  3. Next, pressure cook the above ingredients for 3 whistles.
  4. Let it cool after the whistles, grind and strain well.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste. Banana Stem Soup is ready to be served.
