Dr Mahadevan R

With over 24 years of expertise in cardiac anaesthesiology, Dr. Mahadevan R has successfully managed more than 16,000 cardiac cases, including specialized pediatric and neonatal cardiac surgeries. He has been instrumental in setting up nine cardiac surgical centers across India and played a pivotal role in establishing the first rural cardiac center in Kerala.

Dr. Mahadevan has extensive experience in managing high-risk procedures such as surgeries for Jehovah’s Witnesses. He has actively conducted over 148 cardiac camps, especially across rural regions of Tamil Nadu, helping provide access to specialized care in underserved areas. His contributions extend beyond the operation theatre—volunteering in disaster-hit areas and training paramedical teams in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

He has served as a Senior Consultant Cardiac Anaesthesiologist at Billroth Hospitals, Chennai, and held key roles at Dr. K M Cherian Heart Foundation and KG Hospital, Coimbatore. Dr. Mahadevan holds an MD in Anaesthesiology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and an MBBS from Annamalai University.

A passionate marathon runner, he is fluent in Tamil, Telugu, English, and Kannada. He is a TNMC-registered medical professional and a life member of IMA, ISA, IACTA, ICCM, and the Red Cross Society of India.
