Today, the 1st of October, is a very special day as its observed as the International Day for Older Persons as established by the United Nations.
This day aims to acknowledge the contributions of older individuals to their society and addresses the issues affecting their well-being.
The main purpose is to raise awareness about aging issues and promote the rights and dignity of older persons.
The theme of this year’s International Day for Older Persons focuses on various aspects of aging (e.g., resilience, digital inclusion, etc.).
This year the theme is “Driving Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being, Our Rights.”
It is very evident that the global increase in aging brings opportunities as well as huge challenges in every family which is of great concern.
