Our dear Kway Readers,

As we embark on the final month of the year, let’s pause to ponder the profound mystery of life. Our existence is a complex tapestry, woven with threads of puzzle, journey, and game. At its core, our health is the most precious treasure we possess.

The Tamil language offers a unique perspective on life, dividing its letters into ‘uyir ezuthukkal’ (lifeline letters) and ‘Mei ezuthukkal’. ‘Uyir’ signifies life, while ‘Mei’ represents truth. The fusion of these two words serves as a poignant reminder to live a life of authenticity and purpose.

The letter ‘உ’ (U) is a potent symbol of life and vitality, initiating words like ‘உண்மை’ (truth), ‘உடல்’ (body), and ‘உயிர்’ (life). Let’s harness the energy of this letter to propel us towards wellness and greatness.

– உணவு (Uṇavu) – Nourishing food for body and soul
– உடற்பயிற்சி (Uṭarpaẏiṟci) – Regular exercise for a healthy body
– உறக்கம் (Uṟakkam) – Restful sleep for mind and body
– உள்ளம் (Ullam) – A healthy mind is essential for overall well-being

In the English alphabet, the letter ‘P’ holds a special significance, embodying qualities that can transform our lives:

  • Patience gives us the passion and perseverance to tackle challenges head-on
  • Passion fuels our purpose and motivates us to take action
  • Perseverance helps us overcome obstacles and stay focused
  • Productivity boosts our potential and helps us achieve our goals
  • Potential unleashes our inner strength and capabilities
  • Power inspires greatness and enables us to make a positive impact

As a family physician, my focus is on prevention and empowerment. I urge you to prioritize your health and wellness by:

  • Scheduling a comprehensive check-up with your doctor to review your health goals and address concerns
  • Staying up-to-date on vaccinations to shield yourself and loved ones from diseases
  • Prioritizing mental health and self-care through mindfulness, stress management, and self-reflection
  • Focusing on balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep to fuel your body
  • Staying informed about the latest health news and research to make informed decisions

Let’s harvest these thoughts to cultivate a life of authenticity, purpose, and positivity. Let’s remove poverty from our thoughts and make a conscious effort to create a ripple effect of kindness and compassion. Let’s strive to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Merry Christmas to all!

Have a great month ahead.

I would love to know what you think about our monthly newsletter. Feel free to give your feedback via email [email protected].

Highlights @ Kauvery

Hello Kauverians!

Welcome to a Dazzling December!

As we step into the final month of the year, December invites us to pause, reflect, and embrace the true essence of dedication, delight, and dazzle. It is the perfect moment to look back at the months gone by and appreciate the people, experiences, and achievements that have shaped our Kauvery journey.

November set the stage beautifully with the vibrant celebrations of Children’s Day, The contests and activities we conducted gave us a reminder of the innocence and wonder that children bring into our lives. Their smiles gently reminded us of why we do what we do every day, bringing hope, healing, and happiness to families who trust us with their most precious lives.

Hello Kauverians, and welcome to Optimistic October!
By Uma & Vishnu

Our Men’s Day celebrations added another meaningful layer to the month. Through engaging competitions and moments of camaraderie, we took the time to appreciate the dedication, strength, and contributions of the men across our organisation. Their commitment, whether on the clinical frontlines or in supportive roles, continues to uplift our mission and enrich our culture. Together, these celebrations allowed us to express gratitude for our families, our colleagues, and the spirit of unity that defines Kauvery.

December is a month that beautifully embodies the spirit of Thanksgiving, a time to celebrate joy, recognise efforts, and express heartfelt appreciation.

This season also reminds us to acknowledge every doctor, nurse, technician, administrator, and support staff member whose compassion and hard work light our path. Each patient who walks through our door’s places immense trust in us, and it is this trust that fuels our pursuit of excellence every single day.

As December unfolds, we look forward to Christmas celebrations and the New Year with new hopes. Festive cheer, year-end reflections, and moments of togetherness will soon fill our campuses.

At the heart of it all lies a simple truth: dedication, delight, and dazzle strengthen us, unite us, and inspire us to serve with even greater purpose.

Let us close this year with joyful hearts and step into the next with renewed hope and pride.

Here’s to a December filled with dazzle, delight, and Kauvery pride!

A Patient Who Became a Teacher Again

Dayana Briskilla
Ms Dayana Briskilla,
Service Excellence

Dear readers, working in Service Excellence, my days are always energetic by meeting strangers, having small conversations, understanding their emotions, and becoming a tiny part of their healing journey. But some encounters makes me understand that life feels lighter and happier when we truly cherish the small moments we are given in this world.

One such story began the day I met an 87-year-old woman admitted for hernia surgery. The moment I walked into her room, I felt her warmth. She had the grace of age, but the spark of a young heart. Little did I know her children are living out of city and she was taken care by care takers at home. Yet, she carried a joy within her that was rare, she built by keeping herself engaged, singing and embracing every moment as it came.

From the very first visit, she welcomed me with a bright smile. And from then on, my visits to her room never felt routine, they felt meaningful. She loved playing Ludo.“ It keeps my mind active,” she said. So every day, we played and between every move, she sang old melodies, funny lines, anything that made us laugh. Nurses walking by would pause and smile, touched by her cheerful energy.

She also asked if we could do a canvas painting together. So we sat side by side, filling colours on a blank canvas. As days passed, she shared pieces of her life, she had been a devoted commerce teacher who loved her students and shaped many young minds. What touched me most was her strength. Although her sons lived far away and she depended on caretakers, she never allowed sadness to enter her space.

On the day of her surgery, instead of fear, she hummed a soft tun. Her calmness eased the worries of everyone around her. She believed singing made her stronger and She passed through her pain with music, courage, and a heart that refused to grow old.

Her surgery was successful. Her recovery was steady when she was discharged, she left a lasting impression, happiness doesn’t depend on circumstances it depends on the circumstances, to stay positive, the ability to cherish small moments, and the love we carry in our hearts. Age may slow the body, but a joyful spirit can keep the soul forever young.
