Gooseberry and Betel Leaves Juice

Indian gooseberry is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, which help support immunity and protect the body from oxidative stress. It is also valued for promoting digestion, skin health and overall wellness.

These two healthy and refreshing recipes offer a perfect way to enjoy this humble power fruit.

I. Gooseberry and Betel Leaves Juice

Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry: 1
  • Betel leaves: 2
  • Water: 200 ml
  • Honey: 1 tsp

Method:

  • De-seed the gooseberry and chop it into pieces.
  • Tear up the betel leaves into pieces as well.
  • Add the chopped gooseberry to a mixer jar along with the betel leaves.
  • Add a small amount of water first and grind the mixture well.
  • Now, add honey and the remaining water.
  • Grind once again to mix well.
  • Strain and serve!
Gooseberry Mint Juice

II. Gooseberry Mint Juice:

Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry: 2
  • Ginger piece: 1/2 inch
  • Lemon: ½
  • Water: 200 ml
  • A few mint leaves
  • Palm sugar or honey as per individual requirements

Method:

  • De-seed the gooseberries and cut them into pieces.
  • To a mixer jar, add the gooseberries along with ginger, mint leaves and the sweetener of your choice.
  • Add the water and grind well. Adjust water quantity according to your preference.
  • Squeeze juice from half a lemon into this mixture. This will balance the bitterness from the gooseberries.
  • Combine well.
  • Strain and serve!
