Dr U V U Vamsidhar Reddy

Dr. U. V. U. Vamsidhar Reddy is a Hepatology and Liver Transplantation specialist with more than 10 years of clinical experience in the evaluation and management of liver diseases. He currently serves as the Clinical Lead – Hepatology & Liver Transplantation at Kauvery Hospital, Chennai. He completed his MD in General Medicine from JIPMER, Puducherry, followed by advanced specialist training with a DM in Hepatology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, two of India’s leading Institutes of National Importance. His clinical expertise spans advanced liver disease, cirrhosis and its complications, acute liver failure, acute-on-chronic liver failure, alcohol-related liver disease, viral hepatitis, portal hypertension and hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr. Vamsidhar Reddy has extensive experience in liver transplantation, including comprehensive evaluation and management of patients before transplantation, care during the transplant period and long-term post-transplant follow-up. He is also experienced in managing critically ill patients with acute liver failure, advanced cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure. In addition to clinical hepatology and transplantation, he is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and ERCP. His academic interests include clinical hepatology, liver failure, transplantation and advanced liver disease research, and he has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical residents, hepatology trainees and research scholars.
