Dr. T. Paul Jude Ramesh
Dr. Paul Jude Ramesh Thangaraj is a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Kauvery Hospitals, Chennai, and Adjunct Faculty at IIT Madras. He is the architect of India’s advanced heart and lung transplantation program, with the highest number of combined heart-lung and double lung transplants in the country. He has pioneered several firsts in Asia, including the region’s first successful en-bloc combined heart and liver transplant.
He has received awards for contribution to ECMO and Transplan-tation from Chief Ministers in 2 states, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh and from the Governor of TN. He was awarded the best doctor award in TN by the GOVT of TN in 2018.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Ramesh has performed the entire spectrum of adult cardiac, thoracic, and transplant procedures, including ECMO for ARDS, complex valve and coronary surgeries, and advanced thoracic oncology. He has also contributed to research in gasotransmitter measurement and blood oxygenation technologies.
