Dr. K Thirusenthil Aathipan

Dr. K. Thirusenthil Aathipan is a highly skilled Orthopedic Surgeon with over 8 years of extensive clinical and surgical experience. Having successfully performed more than 2,000 orthopedic procedures, he specializes in trauma care, joint replacement surgery, spine disorders, arthroscopy, pediatric orthopedics, deformity correction and limb reconstruction.

He completed his MBBS and MS (Orthopedics) from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai, where he trained under the esteemed Prof. P. V. Vijayraghavan and developed a strong foundation in both the theoretical and clinical aspects of Orthopedics.

Subsequently, he completed his DNB (Orthopedics) while serving as a Senior Resident at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, one of India’s premier tertiary care centers. During this period, he had the privilege of working alongside renowned orthopedic surgeons who significantly shaped his clinical expertise. Under the guidance of the late Prof. Ramesh Kumar, he gained extensive experience in managing spine disorders ranging from disc prolapse and fractures to spondylolisthesis and complex spinal deformities. Working with Prof. Vikas Gupta enhanced his proficiency in treating osteomyelitis, non-unions, mal-unions, pediatric fractures, deformity corrections and the application of Ilizarov techniques, while also managing clubfoot (CTEV) clinics. Under Prof. L. G. Krishna, he acquired advanced skills in primary and revision hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow arthroplasty procedures.

Driven by his passion for joint replacement surgery, he pursued the prestigious ISHKS Arthroplasty Fellowship at Amandeep Group of Hospitals under Prof. Avatar Singh. During this fellowship, he received comprehensive training in conventional and robotic-assisted hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow replacement surgeries. He further expanded his expertise in Ilizarov and Limb Reconstruction System (LRS) fixations under Dr. K. K. Singh and developed a focused interest in foot and ankle disorders under the mentorship of Dr. Rajeev Vohra.

Upon returning to Chennai, he joined Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, as a Junior Consultant under Dr. Arun Kannan and was subsequently promoted to Associate Consultant under Dr. Navaladi Shankar and Dr. Kornad Kosygan. During this tenure, he refined and expanded his skills across trauma surgery, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, spine surgery, and pediatric orthopedics.

Academically active and committed to evidence-based practice, Dr. K. Thirusenthil Aathipan has presented and published multiple scientific papers and continually updates his knowledge with the latest advances in orthopedic surgery, including emerging fields such as regenerative orthopedics.

Known for his patient centered approach, he is fluent in Tamil, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali and French, enabling him to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and provide personalized care.
