Dr G Lokeshwari
Dr. G. Lokeshwari is a Senior Consultant in Clinical Microbiology and Hospital Infection Control at Kauvery Hospital, Chennai. She holds an MBBS from PSG IMS&R, Coimbatore and an MD in Microbiology from Coimbatore Medical College.
With over a decade of experience in clinical microbiology, she has extensive expertise in diagnostic microbiology services including bacteriology, mycobacteriology, medical mycology, parasitology, infectious disease serology, and molecular diagnostics. She plays a key role in ensuring accurate laboratory diagnosis, quality assurance, and timely reporting to support optimal patient care and antimicrobial stewardship.
Dr. G. Lokeshwari is actively involved in hospital infection prevention and control programs, including surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), outbreak investigations, and preparation of antibiograms to guide evidence-based treatment.
She also contributes significantly to academics as a faculty member and examiner in microbiology and is involved in postgraduate teaching and training programs in infection control.
Dr. G. Lokeshwari has presented at multiple scientific forums and has several publications in national and international journals, reflecting her continued contribution to research in microbiology and infectious diseases.
