Dr Sowmya Sridharan
Dr. Sowmya Sridharan is an accomplished Infectious Diseases Physician with expertise in managing complex bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections, including those in immunocompromised and critically ill patients.
She holds an FNB in Infectious Diseases, MRCP (UK), and Certification in Infection Control (CIC, USA). She completed her MD in Internal Medicine and MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, and is ECFMG certified (USMLE).
Her research work has been widely published in reputed journals, covering topics such as Candida auris meningitis, COVID-19 associated mucormycosis, antimicrobial resistance, hospital-acquired infections, invasive candidiasis, and melioidosis. She has also contributed a chapter on Clostridial Infections in the API Textbook of Medicine.
Dr. Sowmya is a regular faculty and invited speaker at national and international conferences, where she has delivered lectures on invasive fungal infections, antimicrobial stewardship, urinary tract infections, and transplant-related infections.
She has received multiple academic distinctions, including a Gold Medal in Physiology and top ranks in University examinations for Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
