Dr. Sumanth Srivatsan C

Dr. Sumanth Srivatsan C is a General Surgeon with focused expertise in surgical gastroenterology and liver transplant support, with hands-on experience across high-volume tertiary care settings.

He completed his MBBS from Chettinad Academy of Research and Education and pursued his MS in General Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry.

Since 2024, he has been part of the Liver Transplant and General Surgery team at Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, where he has been actively involved in preoperative evaluation, intraoperative assistance, and postoperative management of liver transplant patients, along with managing complex gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgical cases.

He has extensive experience assisting and performing a wide range of general and laparoscopic procedures, including upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeries and HPB procedures. His training includes exposure to advanced surgical gastroenterology, oncological procedures, and both open and robotic-assisted liver transplant surgeries.

Dr. Sumanth is proficient in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques, including assisting in procedures using advanced robotic platforms. He has also played an active role in perioperative care, intensive care management, and multidisciplinary coordination for complex surgical patients.

During his postgraduate training, he was involved in both elective and emergency surgical care, including assisting major open surgeries and performing select procedures under supervision. He also has early clinical experience in managing critically ill patients, including those requiring ventilatory support and invasive line placements.

He has contributed to academic platforms through award-winning presentations, including securing first place at a national surgical conference for his research on negative pressure wound therapy and recognition for clinical case presentations.
