At our Kauvery Cancer Institute, what sets us apart is the presence of a full team of cancer care specialists under one roof. Being part of a multispeciality hospital gives us an added advantage in managing complex cases. Unlike many centres that rely on general pathologists, we have dedicated onco-pathologists for greater diagnostic precision. We also conduct regular Tumour Board Meetings where each patient’s treatment plan is collectively discussed and decided by a team of oncology experts. This collaborative approach eliminates individual bias and ensures every patient receives a personalised, evidence-based care plan aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes.”

In his comments about Kauvery Cancer Institute, Dr.D.Senguttuvan Executive Director, Kauvery Hospitals,Trichy said, “We are proud to bring cutting-edge cancer care technology and expertise to Trichy. This world-class facility makes advanced treatment more accessible to patients who might otherwise have to travel to larger cities. We are committed to continuously upgrading our capabilities—nuclear medicine will be added in the coming months. The centre is equipped to perform advanced procedures, including laparoscopic cancer surgeries, organ preservation surgeries and complex cancer surgeries. Our multidisciplinary team includes surgical and medical oncologists, interventional radiologists, plastic and vascular surgeons, as well as onco-pathologists. We also have specialists dedicated to pediatric and hematologic cancers, ensuring comprehensive care for patients.”

He observed that while the incidence of cancer is steadily increasing—largely due to lifestyle factors such as obesity, smoking, alcohol consumption and environmental pollution—there is also remarkable progress in treatment success rates, thanks to evolving technologies. Today, early-stage cancers have a success rate of up to 85%-90%, and even Advanced-stage cancers see about 65%-75% success with timely, appropriate intervention.
