November was a month of major developments for India in the fields of economic activities, relations with neighbouring countries, sporting achievements and much more. Here at Kauvery Hospital, we too continued to grow by adding to our wide range of medical services.
Our already strong Liver Transplant Team has been further strengthened by the joining of Dr. U.P. Srinivasan, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and liver surgeon. He is a laparoscopic surgeon with expertise in surgeries involving the bowel, pancreas, liver and spleen. He also does bariatric surgeries for the morbid obesity.
Our Nephrology team welcomed the arrival of Dr. V Murugesan, Consulting Nephrologist who is available for consultations in the evenings.
The Pediatric Cardiology team held medical camps in Cuddalore, Arani and Rasipuram. The camps were very well received and we hope to continue to conduct similar camps in other places across the state.
Our Pediatric Nephrology and Urology team conducted a medical education program on the subject of “Medical and surgical management of Vesico Ureteric Reflux.”
Children’s day was an occasion to place special focus on our younger patients and we did this by cutting a cake for those children requiring cardiac care. Not only were the doctors present, there were also medical clowns to keep the children happy and entertained.
This month we will be conducting a Nephrology CME program for postgraduates on the subject of “Acid Base and Electrolyte Disorders.” This will be held at Hotel Raintree on December 11th.
We are entering December and 2016 is drawing to an end. It has been a good year for the hospital and, we are sure, for our patients as well. In 2017 we hope to continue to offer a wider and more sophisticated range of medical services to all those who enter our doors. It is for them that we exist. As Hippocrates, the father or modern medicine said “Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.”
We wish all our readers good health in December and the months and years to follow.
