Kauvery Hospital Heartcity, the exclusive cardiac care centre in the Delta region, continues to advance heart care with the introduction of Rotablation Angioplasty—an innovative procedure designed to treat severely calcified coronary artery blockages. Known medically as Rotational Atherectomy, the technique uses a high-speed diamond-tipped burr to gently clear hardened plaque from the arteries, helping restore blood flow to the heart.
Under the leadership of Dr. S. Aravindakumar, Chief Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, the hospital has successfully performed 40 rotablation procedures between 2019 and 2024. In addition, he has completed over 8000 angioplasty procedures, one of the highest numbers in the Delta region, highlighting the depth of experience available at the centre.
