Hello Readers,

Welcome to the month of July! This new month will definitely bring us happier and better days ahead!

July 1st is celebrated as National Doctors Day, though of course doctors deserve to be celebrated throughout the year too! On behalf of Kauvery Hospital, we wish all the doctors out there a very happy and healthy Doctors Day! We are especially proud of the doctors who are at the forefront of this war against COVID-19; they are sacrificing their family life and are fully committed towards saving mankind. We also salute the medical warriors who have fought this situation and have lost their lives.

This discriminatory attitude is indeed painful and puts doctors under undue mental stress. Please remember that now is the time for all of us to be united and help one another. Please do treat doctors like you would treat your family members and wish them well. It’s time that everyone realizes that doctors are humans too! [Read More…]

Ragas in Carnatic Music and Their Health Benefits

Music therapy is an established health profession in which music is used as a therapeutic treatment to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals. The idea of music as a healing influence which could affect health and behavior positively is as old as the writings of Aristotle and Plato. The 20th century discipline began after World War I and World War II when community musicians, both amateurs and professionals, went to veterans’ hospitals around the country to play for the thousands of veterans who were suffering both physical and emotional trauma from the wars.

It is not an activity for the thrill seekers who are in search of an adrenaline rush; instead it is for those people who are willing to wait to reap the fruits of their hard work and for those who can appreciate the tranquillity that a garden brings.
