Five post graduate residents in Kauvery’s Diplomate National Board (DNB) program have been successful in the final examination. Their results were announced this month.

  • Dr G. Archana, General Surgery, Trichy
  • Dr Karishma Puthanpura, Anesthesiology, Chennai
  • Dr Pradeep, Pediatrics, Trichy
  • Dr Bhanu Priyanga, Pediatrics, Trichy
  • Dr K. Veerender, General Medicine, Trichy

This very gratifying outcome owes its genesis to the brilliant and sustained mentorship of the HODs and teaching faculties of the Departments of General Surgery, General Medicine, Pediatrics and Anesthesiology at Chennai and Trichy.

These residents have also benefitted from many other consultants who have helped them with their immense experience and skill. I thank all of them for having generously contributed their valuable time towards teaching the art and science of our great profession.

Post graduate residents learn from everyone who serves the cause of patients. In a hospital, when you are a learner, everybody is a teacher. Nurses and technicians who run investigative departments and staff of supporting departments can all pass on great vignettes of practical wisdom to doctors in training.

We now stand on the threshold of expanding the ambit of our DNB training programs. The National Board has invited applications from hospitals that wish to be accredited to offer two-year diploma courses in Anesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Radio Diagnosis and Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases.

The online applications for these programs have already commenced and will close on 30th September 2020.
