Hello Dear Enthusiastic Readers,

What is parenting? It is a role which almost every living thing experiences in a lifetime, isn’t it?

It’s an experience after reproduction of any species.

Animals like cows and dogs also experience parenting and nurture their young ones, but for humans, parenting holds a deeper, much more special meaning.

This role in our lives that we get to experience is often discussed as a subject on its own. Parenting is a huge responsibility which involves inculcating or instilling certain behavioural characteristics in another human, predominantly in our children.

The style of parenting along with social, environmental, educational and financial factors, and most importantly the good physical and mental health of the parent, have a huge impact on the child’s growth and future.

This exposure actually determines the future parenting skills in the child.

Quite often, parenting affects the outlook of a child – how he/she wants to be as a parent.

Yes, parenting is a skill.

I am sure most of us want to give the best to our children.

Knowingly or unknowingly, we try to relive vicariously through our children’s lives. Unfortunately, this has been a vicious cycle for many years.

We used to commonly encounter this scene in our homes: “Why are you sitting? Go and do something!” – this was a common command from parents 30 years ago.

“Can you please do this dear?” – this was a little later.

But nowadays, it’s quite the opposite.

For every parenting command, some bribery seems to be needed: “I will get you this if you can please do this for me.”

This way of parenting where the child expects something in return is a real cause of concern.

Nowadays a child’s need for parenting has actually come down because of a single mobile phone which is multitasking.

They have their phones to wake them up, to talk to them, to guide them, to teach them, to play with them, feed them (food delivery apps) and to take them anywhere (booking apps). All that’s needed is a Phone Pay or G Pay connection to stay connected with the parents.

If earning, then that connectivity also might disappear.

Phones have almost replaced parents physically, but they can never replace the emotional quotient and empathetical bonding of the parent and a child.

The huge love which can only be felt through parenting is the solace one can get mutually from parenting.

Parenting involves nurturing, guiding, and supporting a child’s development into adulthood. It encompasses providing physical, emotional, social, and cognitive care to help a child thrive. This process can involve different people including biological parents, guardians, and other caregivers.

Here, at the dawn of June,

We Team K-Way compassionately welcome you all and wishing all the lovely parents a Happy Global Parents Day.

The United Nations observes Global Day of Parents annually on June 1st. This day is dedicated to respecting and appreciating the vital role of parents in the lives of their children and the well-being of every family.

Playful parenting and the promise of playful parenting refer to the benefits that children and parents receive when parents actively engage in play with their children. This approach fosters strong bonds, boosts cognitive and social development, and promotes emotional intelligence. Playful and positive parenting also helps children develop a positive attitude towards life and helps them learn healthy coping mechanisms for stress and emotions.

Positive parenting significantly benefits children’s development and well-being by promoting stronger parent-child relationships, boosting self-esteem and confidence, and promoting positive behaviour and resilience. It also encourages effective communication and helps children learn crucial social and emotional skills.

Resilience is much needed in today’s generation. It is the ability to adapt successfully and bounce back from difficult situations, maintaining psychological well-being in the face of adversity. It involves adapting positively to challenges, which often strengthens personal growth and enhances one’s ability to handle future difficulties.

The United Nations theme for this year’s Global Day of Parents emphasizes on all the above and the theme is “Raising Parents”.

This theme acknowledges that parenting is a learned skill and emphasizes the importance of providing parents and caregivers with the necessary support, resources, and training to effectively raise children. The United Nations will launch “Parenting Month 2025” to further highlight this theme.

On this special day, we thank the millions of wonderful parents out there and wish them a great life ahead! We look forward to seeing the younger generation master the skill of parenting.
Have a wonderful month ahead.

I would love to know what you think about our monthly newsletter. Feel free to give your feedback via email [email protected].

Highlights @ Kauvery

Hello Kauverians, and welcome to Joyful June!

Hello Kauverians! Welcome to Nurturing November
By Uma & Vishnu

As we step into June, we reflect on a May that was rich with compassion, innovation, and community spirit. At Kauvery, every month is an opportunity to deepen our commitment to health and well-being, and May was no exception.

We began the month by honouring our nurses during Nurses Week. Their unwavering dedication and compassionate care are the heartbeat of our hospital. Through a week-long celebration, we organized various competitions, wellness activities, and gratitude ceremonies to recognize their invaluable contributions. These events not only highlighted their professional excellence but also celebrated the deep empathy and resilience they bring to every patient interaction. At Kauvery, we value our nurses as the pillars of our healthcare family, and this week was a heartfelt tribute to their tireless efforts.

May also marked Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we hosted workshops focused on destigmatizing mental health, fostering open conversations, and providing tools for emotional resilience. These initiatives underscored our commitment to holistic care, emphasizing that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Additionally, in observance of World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5th, we launched a comprehensive hand hygiene campaign, emphasized the critical role of proper hand hygiene in preventing infections. We engaged patients, caregivers, and staff through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and educational materials, reinforcing the importance of clean hands in safeguarding health. This initiative not only aligned with global health standards but also underscored our dedication to patient safety and infection control.

As we move into June, we carry forward the spirit of compassion and community that defined May. This month, we proudly celebrate World Environment Day on June 5th. At Kauvery, we take immense pride in being a green hospital committed not only to healing people but also to protecting our planet. Our sustainable practices, from energy-efficient infrastructure to waste reduction and water conservation, reflect our deep responsibility toward environmental stewardship. On this day, we renew our pledge to lead by example, promoting eco-friendly initiatives that ensure a healthier environment for future generations.

We also honor World Blood Donor Day on June 14th, reminding everyone of the life-saving gift of blood donation and encouraging our community to participate in this vital act of kindness.

At the heart of everything we do at Kauvery is empathy the genuine understanding and compassion that connects us to every patient, colleague, and community member. It is empathy that transforms care into healing, and service into kindness. As we move forward together, let us carry this spirit in our hearts, reminding ourselves that every act of compassion, no matter how small, makes a profound difference in someone’s life. In empathy, we find our true strength and purpose. Together, let us continue to support one another in our journey toward holistic well-being.

Echoes of Resilience: “Held by Love, Healed by Hope”

Ms. Monica
Ms Monica,
Service Excellence

As a young woman working in healthcare I often find myself balancing professional responsibilities with the quiet emotions that come from caring for people during the most vulnerable moments. We’re taught to stay composed to stay focused but sometimes, a patient’s story reaches beyond your role. It touches you in a way that feels personal.

It was a regular day at work filled with routine responsibilities, but then I met her. A 27 year-old women whose presence quietly demanded attention, not because of her illness, but because of her light. Her smile was warm, and her spirit even in silence spoke of strength. As I got to know her, I learned about the pain and strength behind that smile.

A few years ago, she had started feeling unwell with a simple headache. What seemed like something small led to a life changing diagnosis IgA nephropathy, a type of kidney disease. Over time, her condition worsened, turning into chronic kidney disease. She spent much of her life going from one hospital to another, tied to dialysis machines, waiting and hoping.

What moved me most was the love that surrounded her. Her husband was always by her side. Every time fear crept in, every time her eyes welled up with tears, he was there to hold her hand, calm her down, and remind her that she was not alone. What struck me most, was how much I saw parts of myself in her in her youth, her dreams and the life she was trying to hold on to. As women we often carry so much expectations, hope, fear resilience and to see someone like her, battling so much with such grace, reminded me of how fragile and strong we can be at the same time.

The 27- year –old women had traveled far, hoping for the best care, putting her trust in the hands of doctors. She went through countless investigations and biopsies as part of her treatment each step brought her close to hope. After few years of waiting, after endless hospital visits and sleepless nights, the day finally came her kidney transplant was a success.

When she spoke after the surgery, she called it a miracle. She thanked the doctors, the nurses, and every member of the team with such deep emotion that it brought tears to our eyes. You could feel how much it meant to her not just the surgery, but the kindness and care she received along the way.

Dear readers, this story isn’t just about medicine or illness. It’s about the human spirit. Behind every diagnosis is a person a life full of dreams fears and hope. I realized something profound that healing isn’t just happen inside the body it happens around it. In the quiet strength of her bravery, the love of her husband and the care of her friends, I saw true meaning of recovery. Let this be a reminder to all of us: never underestimate the power of standing by someone. And sometimes, the greatest miracle isn’t just the transplant it’s the journey of how she got there and the love that carried her. As a society, let’s not just treat illnesses let’s treat people with love. Because sometimes, love is the most powerful medicine of all.
