Vanakkam!

The KAUVERIAN is delighted to bring you three unique and hopefully memorable publications.

The first collaboration between a Kauvery author and our “content creation” team appears in this issue as a pilot project. Dr. Balaji Kirushnan’s study on COVID-19 and Dialysis at Kauvery Hospital Chennai received the full support of our content team and is now ready for national or international publication. I have described the process that shall be put into place when authors and KAUVERIAN shall work together on increasingly more complex and sophisticated clinical research projects.

Our second adventure is bringing a new and fascinating dimension to medical writing by inviting one of our senior colleagues who we all know is a distinguished and prolific speaker and writer. She shall be writing a frequent column, the “Dr. Prthika Chary’s page”. I expect the “Neurobiology of romantic love” would fascinate you.

Our third leading article in this issue is a book review by Dr. K. Senthil Kumar on “A wake-up call from the Anaesthesiologist”, written by Dr. Vasanthi Vidyasagaran, a dedicated and highly experienced Anaesthesiologist and a great teacher. Another review shall follow, on her second book.

We bring you two case reports, a first-time report from the Department of Clinical Psychology, Chennai and yet another seminal study from Department of Pediatrics, Trichy, who shall emerge as Kauvery’s treasure house of clinical research.

Dr. Nagarajan continues to engage you on a quiz on diagnostic images and our young and vividly imaginative poet, Kaanthal Manikandan elevates you to the stratosphere with her poem on the “Fallacies of perfection”.

Mr. Dasaratharaman, our statistician brings you a helpful article on the “Fundamentals of Biostatistics”.

We look forward to seeing more of you in print. Come join us in this intellectual expedition.

Best regards!
