Dear colleagues,

The 08 July edition of the KAUVERIAN starts with a BANG!

Three painstaking Clinical Audits follow.

Dharsshini, Clinical Pharmacist, clinical researcher and prolific author, presents the FIRST EVER STUDY from Trichy on ‘ Women and CAD.’

She is also leaving us shortly to pursue higher studies in Clinical Research at Ireland, on a scholarship.

We publish her ” Journey through Kauvery” to inspire and encourage other young people who have come to Kauvery for a career in health care.

Dr. Kavin from Orthopedics, Trichy, follows with his study of ‘Stage 2 Frozen Shoulder treated with manipulation under anaesthesia.’

Dr. Karthikeyan and Dr.  Santosham present the Trichy ‘Outcome from Traumatic Brain Injury with concomitant chest injuries.’

Kindky accepting our invitation, Dr.Chockalingam  brainstorms with a Guest Editorial on ” Consenting and Decision Making in Management of Patients “.

Vigneshvarprashanth Umapathy, who broke Kauverian records in publication as a Star PG in Internal Medicine at Trichy, publishes two more case reports- on ‘Internuclear Ophthalmoplegia’ and ‘Clinical Snapshots’ from his residency which he completed with distinction.

From the Heart Rhythm Laboratory at Alwarpet and Vadapalani, Dr. Deep Chand and Sharon Jebamalar publish a report that cautions you to be vigilant about ‘False Positive Tracings on Treadmil Tests.’

Dr. Femela, Consultant Pathologist from Radial Road, continues to flash the flag of Pathology with her account and images on’ Perineural Infiltration by an Adenocarcinoma.’

We launch Samyuktha, a bright and spirited Clinical Pharmacist in my team, as a Debut Author, who, both modestly and proudly, writes about ‘ Achieving better outcomes for patients through interventions from Clinical Pharmacists’.

Rengaraj carries the Physician Assistants’ flag high as a regular author, by highlighting ‘Homocysteine as a pro- thrombotic risk factor in Ischemic Stroke’.

Chandru, who is Tech Editor of KAUVERIAN and also a Clinical Pharmacist, investigates the curious phenomenon of the ” French Paradox” which gives relative protection from CAD to the Butter, Cream and Wine loving French people!

At last we have Dr. Shankar Shenoy from Bengaluru Kauvery, who is incredibly prolific – both in deeds and words- in Surgical Gastroenterology, debuting with ‘Robotic Redo Extended Heller’ s CardioMyotomy!’

Another virtuoso is Dr. Sathyanarayana, Interventional Radiologist at Alwarpet. We publish some of his dramatic interventions with salutary outcomes for patients.

Very appropriately from the Heart City comes the image of the Valentine Artery! From Debut Author Dr. Deepak, DrNB Resident, guided by Dr SAK!

We publish the Proceedings of the FIRST EVER Pan- Kauvery Conclave of the Clinical Pharmacists, held recently at Trichy.

It can be the model for drafting ” Proceedings” of all Kauvery Conferences on Continuing Professional Education It was like no other meeting ever held in our premises.

Everyone was teaching, everyone was learning!

It was a collective, joyous and vibrant exercise in working together to advance the science, and safe guard the patient.

You may have noticed that the Journal Scan that emanates from my desk is now mostly diagnostic images. A picture is of more worth than a thousand words!

Our poets, Bala and Vasanth, bring a literary and cultural flavour to finish this work- a labor of love, to progress safe and successful care for our patients with the best of science.

Do read, and write for the KAUVERIAN
