Dear Colleagues,

The Independence Day edition of the KAUVERIAN appears a week ahead of Aug 15.

We launch 5 Debut Authors, which is the mission of the Journal, to publish the original work of Kauverians

Kauvery has made it its zealous mission to promote Clinical Audits as a stepping Stone to Clinical Research.

They project our most precious asset- Kauvery Data, that tell the story of how our care , competence, compassion and confidence transform the quality of life of patients and their families.

100!

Together the KAUVERIAN and NIGHTINGALE have published 100 Clinical Audits.

Three Audits appear on this issue, led by a brilliant audit from Radial Road on Antibiotic prescribing patterns in Neonatal Sepsis.

Trichy comes in to bat with two audits, one on Protection of the Eye in the anesthetized patient and the second on Speech and Swallow assessment in the Neuro ICU.

All three audits are authored by doctors, nurses and physiotherapists, and reflect the integration of the team to assure patient safety and optimum clinical outcomes.

Vadapalani announces two major studies and the protocols are here, which shall inquire into two major challenges in Cardiology- Pulmonary Hypertension and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

This is how it should be- that we conceive studies and publish the protocol in advance in the KAUVERIAN.

This has happened only once before. Heart City had announced and published the protocols of three seminal studies in the KAUVERIAN.

All studies were completed, presented and published.

The text adaptation of the Online Kauvery Academic Lecture on Diagnosis of Coagulation Disorders is published here.

Several case reports follow- on a fascinating range of presentations- Eventration of the Diaphragm, Femoral Nerve Block to facilitate pain free vascular access for device closure of an ASD, a rare cause of Endocarditis, Ac MI with LBBB, Pernicious Anemia and Reversible Cardiomyopathy.

Reports on two Neuro Radiological interventions are here – one into a post-transplant Middle Hepatic Vein Stenosis and the other on a Non – bifurcating Carotid.

We are fortunate to receive a stream of histopathological diagnoses from Radial Road.  One appears here.

From Clinical Pharmacy comes a very educative paper on Optimizing Chemotherapy Dilution.

Our stalwarts at Trichy in Learning and Development present an extraordinary article – ” The Serene Navigator: embracing Zero Emotional Noise( ZEN) in Health Care.

Do your Zen thing and find serenity!

We close the issue with the Journal Scan from the Editor’s Desk, featuring many diagnostic images.

This issue is distinguished by significant participation from our PG Residents who have presented Clinical Audits and case reports.

In fact, Vigneswar prasad Umapathy and Shadia Sulthana publish two each!

Along with Sai Soundarya who was with us earlier, the three of them from Internal Medicine have become prolific KAUVERIAN authors.

Do read, and write for the KAUVERIAN!

Best wishes

Kauvery Hospital
