Introduction

Adhesive Capsulitis/Peri-Arthritis Scapulo humerale is a condition that affected 2–4 % population. Mostly women have the greater risk than men and the common affected age group was 50 years. According to Codman et al, it is difficult to define, treat and explain.

Differential Diagnosis

  • Rotator cuff pathology
  • AC joint Arthritis
  • Subacromial Bursitis
  • Glenohumeral joint Osteoarthritis
  • Cervical Radiculopathy

Stages of disease

  • Stage 1: Pain (inflammation) – Freezing phase
  • Stage 2: pain + Stiffness – Frozen phase
  • Stage 3: Recovery of ROM – Thawing phase.

PrimarySecondary
Diabetes Mellitus Trauma
Thyroid Disorders Immobilization
IdiopathicNeurological conditions
Post cardiac procedure
